A positive person expects success, health and happiness and believes he/ she can overcome any difficulty. Not everyone accepts positive thinking; some consider it nonsense and mock people who follow it, but a growing number of people believe in its effectiveness. As evidenced by the many books and lectures about it, this subject seems to be gaining popularity.
To use it in your life, you need to adopt the positive thinking attitude in everything you do, not just to be aware of its existence. The following story illustrates the difference between the negative thinking and positive thinking:
A man applied for a new job, but his low self- esteem makes him believe he will not get it; he considered himself a failure and unworthy of success. His attitude toward himself was negative and he believed the other applicants are more qualified than him. His mind was occupied with fears and negative thoughts concerning the job and he anticipated failure.
On the day of interview, he woke up late and he discovered that his shirts are either dirty or need ironing. He went out without eating breakfast and wearing a wrinkled shirt and during the interview he was worried about his shirt, hungry and tense, which made it difficult for him to focus on the interview. So, his negative thinking materialized his fear and he did not get the job.
Another man applied for the same job, but he approached the matter differently. He was sure he will get the job; he visualized himself getting the job with the good impression he makes. On the day before the interview, he prepared the clothes he was going to wear and slept a little earlier.
Next day, he woke up early, had his breakfast and arrived to the interview before schedule. As he visualized himself, he made a good impression and got the job. So, his positive thinking led to positive results.
