The body hormone melatonin is responsible for sleeping; blue light emitted by CFLs and LED lights interrupts its production causing problems sleeping at night. Not only that, studies have shown that people who spend time in daylight, compared to ones who sit under fluorescent light during the day, enjoy a better sleep.
